The Story
I was walking home in the rain, it was a 20km trip from Somerset West to Stellenbosch. There comes a point in your life where you need to take count of where you are, ask yourself how you got there and what it is that you want to do from here on out. I think deep down I always knew that I would end up doing film and photography. I couldn’t afford to go and study film, not to mention that at this point I didn’t have a job, a car or any skills other than being a very average musician. The next week I started volunteering at Hillsong Church in Cape Town and it was there where I learned to edit videos and where my career as a filmmaker would start. For the next few years I learned as much as I could while working in various different areas in the film and media industry. This included working on TV productions, filming weddings and events as well as making short films. Five years after that very long and wet walk I get to do what I love every day: Telling stories through pictures in motion.
01. LISTEN A lot more can be accomplished if we learn to listen more and talk less.
02. DREAM Being creative is to allow your dreams to enter your waking world.
03. PLAN Figure out the best way to see those dreams come to life and to see the vision fulfilled.
04. MAKE IT HAPPEN No matter what... Make it happen.
The Process
Mission Approach Philosophy
To create content that is honest, uplifting and unbiased. To think outside the box and keep on pushing the boundaries. To bend lines, break rules and do something different every time. If you force a tree to grow in a certain way using boundaries set out by others, that tree will never grow into the size and strength it was meant to. This is why we don't always follow the most orthodox methods but rather asses the situation and do what makes most sense in order to tell stories in their own rights. "Learn the rules like a pro, so you can break them like an artist" - Pablo Picasso
